Garage with Apartment

Adding an apartment to the upstairs of a garage plan is a wise use of space. By adding dormers and a staircase the upstairs becomes a two bedroom apartment. This garage apartment is shown here in solid log on the first floor and framed conventional construction on the second level. This can also be easily converted to conventional framing for the entire structure.

The floor plan for this garage with apartment is an open garage level. Partition walls may be added if desired.

The floor plan is designed with an interior staircase leading up from the garage, opening into the kitchen. This design also offers a living room, laundry area, full bathroom, and two bedrooms. The wide gable dormers make this design possible. This plan can also be switched to shed dormers for more headroom and ease of access on the interior.
